This panel reviews the research that is currently being conducted and some of the armamentarium that is being used to reduce new infections.  Social networks, support services, vaccine trials for HIV prevention, ARV microbicide trials, testing and treatment, access to treatment, infection rate reduction through regular testing, seroadaptation, street drug and alcohol use, health disparities in special populations, as well as other prevention issues will be covered in this program.  “Testing and Linkage to Care Plus” is another very new concept that is being put forward by a large national coalition with hopes to be adopted as a standard approach to be used in conjunction with other current prevention interventions.
